With an ever expanding congregation of registered members and countless visitors, Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church (WABC) is a dynamic, growing body of believers. Acts 2 describes what I like to describe as the “all in” church. The Acts 2 church put in all they had individually and collectively to be the hands, feet, and heart of Christ in that community. However, this is not just a picture of the past. It truly is the vision of what we desire WABC to become — an all in Christ-centered community. With this in mind, our charge has been to develop a Christian education and discipleship training program that would work to equip and train our members, friends and surrounding communities to navigate these challenging times in which we live. The program has two components — I Want to Grow and I Want to Connect.

SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES

Sunday School meets every Sunday, 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM CST. Please note that the telephone dial-in number for Zoom (346) 248-7799 is the same for all classes, just add your specific meeting id.

Faith and Works strives to be a living example of James 2:17 from which the class derived its name. This is a diverse group of believers in age and gender. Women’s Class | Christian Education Complex - 205

The Women’s class utilizes varying teaching techniques that include women sharing in lively discussion of scripture and the assigned lessons. This class is comprised of a diverse group of married women, single women and single mothers. The Adult Men’s class consists of men who are at various levels of spiritual maturity. The men in this class treasure the wisdom, application of scripture to their everyday lives and fellowship with other men of God. We know that iron sharpens iron. Our class motto is from James 1:22, stating we don’t just listen to God’s word, we must do what it says otherwise we are just fooling ourselves. We teach with the focus of knowing God in a personal way, rather than just quoting scriptures. All ages and gender of class participants are welcome, as we seek and explain how to allow the Holy Spirit to illuminate the Written Word of God in our class lessons and in our everyday living. Faith Walker’s and Disciple Makers | Christian Education Complex - 211

This is a combined (Co-Ed) adult group that is intentionally intergenerational, ranging from young adult to adult. This class focuses on the discovery, understanding, and application of the Word of God for the whole person. The mission is to seek and see the deeper depths of God by seeking first the kingdom of God and all His righteousness, launching in the deep, increasing our individual study of God’s word and seeking God’s promises. The Spiritual Deliverance class is comprised of adult Bible students eager to delve ever deeper into GOD’s word regularly. Persistent in seeking from God’s word the instructions to live a Christ centered, prayer minded lifestyle. Welcoming all comers to love God, His Word and our fellowman. Seeking to draw the lost to our Savior by our love one for another and His Spirit.
