Purpose
To provide a one-time, non-renewable educational grant award for 2021 high school graduates within the family of Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church (WABC). The amount of awards offered will vary depending on availability of funds and number of applicants.
Eligibility
Applicant must be a member of WABC for a minimum of 12 months prior to the application deadline. Applicants must graduate from an accredited high school or present an acceptable GED score during the 2020 -2021 school year. Applicant must present proof of enrollment into a post-secondary institution to the WABC Accounting office or Grant Committee Leader before funds are awarded. The institution can be open to any course of study as long as the curriculum meets the generally accepted standard of accreditation from applicable state and/or federal agencies.
Requirements
Applicant must submit an Educational Grant Application, essay, three letters of recommendation, official high school transcript or GED Certification, and a headshot photograph. An application packet (see check list) MUST be submitted on or before the application deadline, Friday, May 28, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. Applicants are required to participate in the mandatory online sessions offered by the High School Ministry at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church to be eligible to receive the full grant amount. You must select 2 sessions; all sessions will be held virtually via Zoom.
