Why are we building?

To build a building for the glory of God and for the church’s vision. We have reached capacity in the current sanctuary and have limited space for Discipleship Training, Christian Education (Sunday School) and Children’s Church & Ministry. Additionally, we expend significant human resources during each of the four Sunday worship services.

What are we building?

A new sanctuary, Christian Education Complex and surface parking lot. The Christian Education Complex will include more space for our babies and children, Sunday School and other ministries, a larger Chronicles Bookstore/Cafe and administrative spaces.

How will we pay for it?

Our goal is to fund this project through a combination of our efforts from the Capital Stewardship Campaign along with funding from a financial institution.

When will the Capital Stewardship Campaign start?

The campaign started September 2014 and will continue until we have met our goal.

What is our Capital Stewardship Campaign goal?

The goal of the Capital Stewardship Campaign is to raise $20M.

How should I prepare to participate?

Allow God to speak to your heart through prayer. Read scripture passages that speak about stewardship and giving, such as 1 Corinthians 16:2, Proverbs 11:25, Proverbs 3:5-9, 2 Corinthians 8:7, Acts 20:35, Luke 6:38, and Psalm 116:12.

How long will my commitment be?

Members of the congregation are asked to make a commitment payable over a three year period.

If I can’t give a large amount, does my commitment really matter?

All commitments matter, regardless of amount. We all participate according to our ability, God multiplies our giving.

When are we expected to honor our commitments?

You may start paying your commitment as soon as you turn in your commitment card. Commitments are payable over a three year period.

What forms of contributions will be accepted?

Contributions can be made by cash or check. Other forms of contributions can include the transference of title to marketable stocks, bonds, real estate, etc.

Can I give online for the Capital Stewardship Campaign?

Yes, members of the congregation will be able to make contributions to the campaign online by visiting www.wheelerbc.org and clicking on eGive.

Do I have to be a church member to participate in the campaign?

No, participating in the campaign is a personal decision for each of us. Anyone may contribute to God’s work in our church.

What is the status of funds given in previous campaigns toward the building fund?

Contributions given in previous campaigns are being used for expenses during the development and planning stage. These costs include those related to securing permits, finalizing contracts, and enlisting the services of an Owner’s Representative, Architect and a General Contractor.
